Didn’t realize dried could get that old. I drained them again today and rinsed them well. Then put them on medium low for five-ish hours. They cooked to pieces, but with a lot of onion and garlic they went well with Healthy Sloppy Joes for game night. Guess I’ll have to buy some more for soup. Thanks everyone for the info.
Sat night put 15 bean soup beans in to soak. Sunday, drained and rinsed them. Added onions n black pepper and brought them to a boil. Then I left them on low for some six hours. When I was ready to start finishing them for dinner – they were still underdone. I mean crunchy. What went wrong? Can I cook them more tomorrow? Do I need to drain and rinse again (the water is awfully dark)? Btw I miss you guys. Laptop died n posting is torture on a phone’s small keyboard!!
