Has anyone ever used the “Cake Mix Extender” with a cake mix? And what were the resultsssss (for a 9×13)? I got this information from All Recipes.
Cake Mix Extender
Add to any cake mix to make it equal 1.5x the batter amount.
1 cup flour ( I use cake flour, but all purpose will work too)
1/2 cup sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 cup water
1. Add to a regular box mix for 9 inch cakes…Follow directions for your cake mix…may take a little longer as the cake(s) will be thicker, do a toothpick test for doneness.
I am wanting to do this in a Chocolate Cake Mix. But I don’t want to dillute the chocolate. Do I add another 1/4 cup of cocoa? My 9×13 cakes are always thin and I want a thicker cake. TIA
