Married to its Margarita, tequila’s a sweet little love story.
But knocked back with a taste of salt, it’s a wild man let loose upon the night. It’s several-sided. It’s a sunrise, and a sunset. It’s something south of the border and slightly mysterious. It’s tequila!
The perfect cocktail, margaritas are sweet with just enough acidity to keep them from being cloying. They’re delicious, refreshing, and oh-so incredibly drinkable.

Fruity, Frozen Variations on the Classic Margarita
Hey, we could all use more servings of wholesome fresh fruit in our diet.
We’ll always come back to margaritas. But now and again, we like to mix it up with these other tequila-based drinks.
In years past, mezcal’s reputation was, well, for the worms. These days mezcal is a serious spirit, carefully crafted mainly in Oaxaco, Mexico. Artisanal mezcals get their smoky flavor from fire-roasting the hearts of the agave plant slow-and-low in rock pits covered with banana or palm leaves and mounds of earth. Adding just a splash of mezcal to cocktails gives them a delicious, smoky edge.

Gift of the Agave
The first spirit ever distilled in North America wasn’t whiskey. It was tequila.
Near the Mexican village of Tuiquila, Spanish conquistadors first introduced pulque (a pleasant low-alcohol beverage long enjoyed by the Aztecs) to the distillation process, transforming it into the fiery spirit tequila. And the margarita? Long, lonely centuries would pass before tequila first frolicked with lime juice and orange-flavored liqueur inside a salt-rimmed glass. It was sometime around the 1930s, and the cocktail hour has never been the same!

Don’t Forget the Ice!
It’s often overlooked. But the best tasting cocktails use fresh ice made from pure, filtered water. “Fresh” means the cubes haven’t been sitting around for weeks in the freezer soaking up the stale, flavor essences of long-lingering foods. Bring the water to a quick boil for best results. Make it the morning of the day you plan to mix your cocktails, and you’ll enjoy the freshest, most delicious cocktails.
