Don’t say you’re tired of pumpkin spice yet. The season has just begun.
We’d be lying if we said we didn’t feel a little rushed to move past summer thanks to the droves of product announcements for fall and holiday foods that were released this week. Our editors covered many of them — from Pillsbury’s new Pumpkin Spice Cinnamon Rolls to SPAM Pumpkin Spice (yes, that’s real). There were so many that we just couldn’t keep up.
To make your tasting plans easier and help you with spotting the new eats this fall and winter, we put together this list of all the holiday foods we heard about this week. Happy tasting!
The world will find out what a zombie tastes like this fall when Zombie Skittles takes over the candy aisle. "Hidden beneath the candy shell of select pieces in the pack is a rotten zombie flavor that will reveal itself only once you've started to chew," the brand wrote in a press release. We can’t wait to taste the… er, undead!
Magic Kingdom’s Spooky Menu for Halloween
It might still say August on the calendar, but Disney is flipping to fall with the release of their lineup of Halloween treats. The Disney Food Blog revealed all of the eats you can expect to see if you have a date with Donald, Mickey, Minnie, and Goofy this fall. We’re here for the Jack Skellington Push Pops, which the blog describes as “chocolate cake, vanilla buttercream, white and dark chocolate crisp pearls, and dark chocolate curls.”
M&M’s Ghoul’s Mix Sugar Cookie Dough
M&M’s original Ghoul Mix was a fantastic holiday collection of purple, green, black, and orange chocolate candies — if you love it, you can sign an online petition asking Mars to bring it back — and it’s being born again in ready-to-cook sugar cookie dough this fall. BestProducts.com says the dough will be available at Walmart, but there’s no word on when you can expect them to drop.
SPAM Pumpkin Spice
In 2017, SPAM joked with their Facebook followers they were planning to release a pumpkin spice-flavored canned meat product. It was all for laughs then, but now they’re serious. On September 23, you’ll be able to buy Pumpkin Spice SPAM yourself.
Dairy Queen Pumpkin Pie Blizzard
With temperatures across the country nudging 100°F this week, it’s easy to see why you all were so excited about news that Dairy Queen’s Pumpkin Pie Blizzard will be making its return for the 29th year this fall. You can get your first taste of pumpkin pie pieces swirled into the restaurant’s famous vanilla soft serve beginning August 26.
Dunkin’s New Fall Menu
In honor of the release of their new fall menu on August 21, Dunkin’ changed the name of a handful of their coffee shops to Pumpkin’. Oh yeah, and they also released details on the sweets and sips you can get this fall, including an Apple Cider Donut (yes, please) and Cinnamon Sugar Pumpkin Signature Latte. Read what they’re brewing for the new season.
Godiva Has Pumpkin Spice Drinks, Too
The chocolate brand you know and love (and make sure to gift to friends and loved ones every holiday season) will have their own collection of pumpkin spice drinks this fall. Beginning September 3, you can buy Pumpkin Spice Chocolixir and hot or iced GODIVA Pumpkin Spice Lattes at Godiva’s cafés across the country. And if you can’t get to one of the cafés, you may be able to get the Limited Edition Godiva Milk Chocolate Pumpkin Spice G Cubes, Maple Walnut G Cubes, or even the GODIVA Pumpkin Patch Flight, all also available September 3 in boutiques, cafés, or online.
Starbucks’ PSL Is Coming Sooner Than Later
If you’ve been marking off days of the year until the Pumpkin Spice Latte’s return, good news — it’s almost time to stop. The beloved PSL could be back on menus as early as August 27. And why not? If it’s not going to be pleasant outside, at least we can enjoy a pleasant drink inside a wonderfully air-conditioned Starbucks.
Nestlé Pumpkin Spice Filled Baking Truffles
Did you think we were done with the pumpkin spice? Hardly. Instagram snack food enthusiast @CandyHunting posted that Nestlé Toll House is releasing two new baking products, Pumpkin Spice and Sea Salt Caramel Filled Baking Truffles. The candies are obviously ideal for chocolate chip cookies, apple bread, and brownies, but don’t be surprised if you catch us snacking straight from the bag.
Coca-Cola Cinnamon & Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry
This winter, Coca-Cola is bringing big flavors to their classic drinks. While Sprite Cranberry has been in the brand’s portfolio for several years now, they’re spicing things up with a brand-new variety of Sprite with hints of cranberry, as well as a U.S. launch of Coca-Cola Cinnamon (it was previously available in the U.K.). These will be available September 30 until New Year’s Eve, or while supplies last.
Oreo Peppermint Bark
If you didn’t get a chance to try these over-the-top minty chocolate sandwich cookies last year, you’re in luck. Oreo is releasing their Peppermint Bark cookies again this winter. Supplies will start hitting the shelves in late October, just when you’ve tired of all the Halloween candy you swore not to open until trick-or-treaters were at your door.
