Sure, you make a mean corned beef and cabbage dinner, but what do you serve with it?
Do you serve your corned beef naked? Or, do you dress it up with a little something on the side?
Mustard is a traditional condiment to serve with corned beef and other large pieces of meat. But, before you reach for the sad squirt bottle of yellow mustard you should know: mustard comes in many exciting forms. Here are some ideas to take your dinner to the next level.
First the basics. Corned beef is often served with good ol' English mustard made right at home: First pour a bit of dry, ground mustard into a small mixing bowl. Stir in just enough water to form a paste, then stop: you're done. Set your handcrafted mustard aside for an hour or two. It'll get hotter as it sits.
