You've probably got plenty to do without wondering what's for dinner. To help take the guesswork out of meal-planning, we've pulled together six dinner menus that include a main dish with two side dish options; some that you'll find in the August-September 2019 issue of Allrecipes magazine. Bonus: We've included beer and wine suggestions to go with each meal. Enjoy!
Menu #1 Chicken Milano
"This will be added to my list of restaurant quality dishes. The sauce is creamy and velvety delicious and the whole dish makes for a beautiful presentation on the plate." — naples34102
Serve with: Burrata Bruschetta with Figs or Kale Salad with Almonds and Radishes (Toss kale with toasted almonds, sliced radishes, and your favorite vinaigrette.)
Wine Pick: Carmenet Vintner’s Collection Reserve Chardonnay or other California Chardonnay
Menu #2 Make-Ahead Manicotti
"Came out perfect...way easier than trying to stuff cooked shells with filling. Also, to make it easier on me I put filling ingredients in a zip lock bag, snip one corner with the scissors and squeeze into the shells.." — TRINITIK
Serve with: Garlic-Parmesan Zucchini or Green Beans with Garlic and Lemon Zest (Sauté green beans with minced garlic and a little lemon zest.)
Wine Pick: Michele Chiarlo Le Orme or other Barbera d’Asti
Menu #3 Chef John’s Salmon
"This was absolutely delicious! I do not like the taste of mayo, so used non fat plain greek yogurt instead. Very tangy and full of flavor. My whole family loved it and deemed the recipe 'a keeper!'" — Ann Ruesch
Wine Pick: Erath Oregon Rosé of Pinot Noir or other dry rosé
Menu #4 Awesome Honey-Pecan Pork Chops
"Great recipe. My family loved it and it took less than a 1/2 hour to make. That's my kind of dinner." — Dixie J
Beer Pick: Founders Brewing Co. Backwoods Bastard or other Scotch ale
Menu #5 Turkey and Quinoa Meatloaf
"This recipe is a real find! Very flavorful and low fat. It seems that you could almost double the quinoa and not sacrifice flavor. I served the dish with sweet corn and green beans -- will definitely make again!" — Ryan Davis
Serve with: Baked Sweet Potato Fries or Sesame Asparagus (Sauté fresh asparagus in butter with sliced red bell pepper and sesame seeds.)
Beer Pick: Bell’s Brewery Amber Ale or other American amber ale
Menu #6 Slow Cooker Pot Roast Au Jus
"This was probably the most tender roast I've ever made. Did not taste coffee or tomato sauce. It actually tastes even better after a few hours or the next day." — Veronica Shipley
Serve with: Steamed Rice with lime wedges and fresh snipped cilantro or Roasted Vegetables (Toss your favorite veggies with olive oil, salt, and black pepper. Roast at 425°F about 30 minutes.)
Wine Pick: Penfolds Koonunga Hill Cabernet Sauvignon or other Cabernet Sauvignon
