About that zucchini you planted in the garden earlier this year, it’s kinda taking over, isn’t it? By August, the fear of being squished under a mountain of summer squash seems all too real. No way to zoodle yourself out of this one; you need a Plan B.
Luckily, there’s a holiday that solves this problem. It occurs every summer on August 8: “Sneak Some Zucchini Onto Your Neighbor’s Porch Day” — a holiday that needs little further explanation, though it’s worth noting that porches are not technically required. Any doorstep will do. Go ahead — rid yourself of excess bushels of zucchini. Because sharing is caring.
And because a food holiday without tasty recipes is just too sad to contemplate, here are some 5-star zuke recipes we’re loving this summer. Feel free to share them with your newly zucchini-laden neighbors.
